Now in its 14th year, the Caprices Festival is raising the bar for electronic music with over 30 artists set to entertain the thousands of revellers on the slopes around Crans-Montana in Switzerland. The four day extravaganza runs almost continuously between the 6th and 9th April 2017 and starts at the specially created Moon Stage at the foot of the les Violettes gondola. Serious partygoers and skiers alike will mix attitude with altitude as they move to the beats of Marco Carola, who is playing for his third time at Caprices. He will be joined by Leon, Marco Faraone and Paco Osuna who are there to keep the decks spinning until dawn.
April 7th at midday marks the daytime start of the festival at MDRNITY; the club that has broken the mould for daylight clubbing. Set at 2208 metres above sea level the clear roof and panoramic windows give epic views of the Alps from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn and the 7 hours of music from the Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones and Osunlade will only enhance the unique experience. If you still have enough energy you can move on from MDRNITY and move back down the mountain to the Moon venue once again. With Parisian collective, Apollonia starting the evening off you will need to play the long game if you want to last the day and night. Alongside Kerri Chandler (the hero of America’s house scene) are Cassy, the mighty Swiss duo Adriatique and the unbelievably talented Manolo who is taking time away from his producing to get back to his DJ roots at Caprices.
Day 2 – Saturday 8th April sees three stages running day and night with the brand new Cry d’Er at the Club D’Altitude getting its debut in the evening. MDRNITY is the main attraction again for the daytime and the evening provides you a choice from the aforementioned Club D’Altitude and the Moon stage once again. Back to back music from midday to dawn is within reach as long as you have the stamina to keep up.
Sunday 9th sees the festival draw to a climax with the festival drawing to a close at MDRNITY and what will surely be an epic day for all with the DJ’s doing their utmost to outdo each other.
The atmosphere for the Caprices festival is sure to be electric and this year’s director, Maxime Léonard is excited to see Ricardo Villalobos return once again, ‘I wanted to create a completely different atmosphere for our premiere at the Cry d’ER. Ricardo Villalobos will be there and, despite being a regular at Caprices, each of his sets is always a surprise. His musical tone is exactly what I was looking for this event. Melodious and cosmic.’
